About Me

Diane Carolan-Stegman ACSW, LSCSW is a psychotherapist providing individual therapy for adults. She has over 30 years experience and maintains a private practice in Overland Park KS.

New clients may feel uncertain at their first counseling session, however most people quickly relax and begin to feel relief and trust in the value of talk therapy. Diane’s highest priority is creating a sense of emotional safety and ease. She places high regard for ethics and respect for the value of every person. She believes the essential foundation of therapy success lies in the quality of the therapeutic relationship, with treatment modalities individualized according to client need and personal goals. Individuals can learn strategies for anxiety reduction, alleviating depressive symptoms, managing obsessive-compulsive disorder, improving communication skills, coping with grief and life transitions, creating balance and harmony in life. Diane considers it a privilege to be invited in to her clients’ life journeys and is inspired by the many ways they show what is truly possible.

Diane is welcoming and experienced in working with a wide range of  diversity, including gender, race, cultural and spiritual backgrounds. She has worked extensively with active duty, retired military, and their families.

She is a graduate of the University of Kansas. She has post-graduate training in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Professionals program at Duke University Integrative Medicine.
